A window on the world . TV and print show us a much wider world than previous generations.
An interactive link . Mobile phones and the Internet allow us to communicate much more widely and quickly
A provider of information . The media educate us on a huge range of topics, so we are much better informed than ever before
A filter . However the media don't tell us everything, they choose what they want to see An interpreter . The media interpet the worl and make sense of it for us.
A mirror . We see our own society through the media and our place in it.
A controller . The media make it clear which values are correct and which deviant.

Hi ladies,
Very good for the blog! It was rewarding to read your production concerning homosexuality for it mixes the common theoretical core with your thoughtful perspective, certainly the result of your enthusiastic and responsible approach to the topic through different epochs and social groups. The peak of your originality lies in the expression homosexuality is a risk which in no way portrays your prejudices but those of the crowd of people who exert gender discrimination.
Good for research methodology given the figures that give the reader a better understanding of costs of census.
As for media, just if you have time -maybe in summer holidays- try to write an essay like that of homosexuality; I am sure you will produce an appealing text to reflect on.
